Hey everyone, Countdown Christy here.  I hope y’all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I know I sure did!  My family drove all the way down from Michigan so that we could sit around the table and eat our Thanksgiving meal together.  Such love! 

Right before Thanksgiving, the ACC in studio guest was Jeff Hanna of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band (or the Dirt Band as their fans sometimes call them).  He was in talking about their new CD Speed Of Life as well as some of their past hits.  They’ve been around since 1966!!!  Now, I’m sure we have all heard of the song, “Mr. Bojangles” but what I didn’t realize, until recently, was that it was originally made popular by The Dirt Band (yes, I’m now a fan!). In fact, it was the group’s best known single.  Before Kix was a part of Brooks & Dunn, he was a songwriter here in Nashville, and also wrote one of the Dirt Band’s big hits called “Modern Day Romance.” 

            Jeff and Kix sat down and instantly had so much to say to each other. I loved hearing the stories and seeing these two talk about the past!  Check out some of Kix’s interviews on ACC TV, and tune into American Country Countdown with Kix Brooks each weekend on a station near you!
