Live Like You Were Dying

Posted by: Wim and Vera

Hey, Mr. Kix!!!

Hope you are well! And we sure hope Mr. Ronnie is feeling better and that you will be able to hit the road again soon! We flew from Brussels, Belgium to Newark, New Jersey on Friday, June 18th, and then drove to Washington, D.C. for your Bristow, Virginia show on Saturday, June 19th. We were at a stoplight in Fairfax, Virginia headed for the Jiffy Lube Pavilion when a very friendly voice on the local country radio station reminded its listeners that the concert had been ... cancelled! We were in the last 10 miles of a 4,000 mile journey... We refused to believe it and drove on. Well, there were 4 more cars there - we were the only Belgians :-) Nothing much anyone could have done about it. No one chooses to be ill.

We love your music; we love what you have done for country music over the years, and even though you have no idea how much we wanted to be there to give you a proper goodbye, this message will hopefully also do. We, obviously and very unfortunately, cannot listen to your radio show here in Belgium, but we know you are on every weekend. We try to follow country music as closely as the distance from the U.S. will allow.

All the very best! Thank you for playing the shingles off the roof on August 1st when you are in Bristow for the rescheduled show. We won't make it back again cause it's kinda expensive, but we'll be thinking about y'all!!! :-)

I hope you sell your Last Rodeo Tour T-shirts online!!

Love,
Wim and Vera

P.S. After driving away from the Jiffy Lube, we first got lost, and then found a Wal-Mart for some much needed retail therapy! What can I say - we're from Belgium, and they don't have Wal-Mart here!
